Northern Star recovers highest ore at Kalgoorlie operations with Minnovare tech

Northern Star internal contractor Northern Star Mining Services (NSMS) has delivered the highest ore recovery in the life of the Kalgoorlie gold operations within two months of installing Minnovare’s drill and blast technology.

The operation achieved 100 additional drill metres per day, resulting in around 3.5 per cent reduction in stope turnover time.

This improvement brings around 5000 additional ounces and $8.4 million additional revenue at the current gold price when rated over a 12-month period.

MinRes reveals $1.6bn Wodgina lithium agreement with Albemarle

Albemarle Corporation has secured an exclusivity agreement with Mineral Resources (MinRes) to potentially acquire half of the Wodgina lithium project in Western Australia for $US1.15 billion ($1.58 billion).

The agreement, based on the project’s $US2.3 billion enterprise value, gives the United States lithium giant exclusive rights to purchase 50 per cent of Wodgina and would see it form a joint venture with MinRes at the Pilbara site if executed.

Artemis Resources has decided it’s time to step up its effort in the hotly talked about Paterson province.

Better known for its exploits in other parts of WA’s highly resource-fertile Pilbara region, Artemis (ASX:ARV) told investors today that it now plans to start exploring its 600 sq km Armada prospect in the Paterson.

Artemis revealed in July that it had beaten Rio Tinto to the large patch of ground by about three hours.
